Car and USB chargers are very handy things to have. They’re ultra-portable, and some of the new generation of chargers, notably the Bower Digital Ultra Rapid Chargers, are very quick to recharge. Having one of these chargers around when you need one is always going to be a good idea.
Finding the right charger
Chargers are designed either for specific batteries or cameras. The many different camera batteries on the market mean that chargers have to be made to match their designs. When you’re looking for a charger, however, you can find yourself looking through a lot of different units if you don’t know how to find what you need.
The simplest, and definitely the quickest, way to find the right charger is to specify the battery you need. All cameras that don’t use standard AA size batteries use a particular battery “species”. The car chargers are made for these batteries.
Canon, for example, have special chargers for their EOS DSLR cameras designed for their own battery brands. Camera accessories specialists Bower have chargers designed for specific batteries, including Canon. All you need to do is search the battery type and number to find the right charger.
For example-
The Canon LP-E6 battery is designed for the Canon DSLR EOS 5 MK II and EOS 7D cameras. The Bower car charger for this battery is the Bower Canon USB Car Battery Charger LP-E6. To find the charger, you often can’t search the camera model type, which may or may not be listed. You must search for the battery type and number.
Buying Digital Camera and USB Chargers
Surprisingly, there are some very good discounts, up to nearly 50%, available for car and USB chargers online. That’s a good deal by any standards, particularly for such useful accessories.
