The AC adaptor is the photographer’s best friend in so many ways. The fact is that digital cameras, brilliant as they are, need to be looked after in terms of their power supplies. If you’ve ever had the experience of a camera slowly fading out on you when you’re out shooting, you’ll know the story only too well.

Canon, for example, has adaptors which work with both EOS DSLRs and Powershot cameras, using a very simple plug and play adaptor. In some cases the adaptor is a simple cable, connecting to a camcorder recharger and a wall outlet.
Finding the right AC adaptor
The AC adaptors come in a vast range of different styles and types, depending on camera models, cabling requirements and plug-in types. Fortunately there’s a way to find the AC adaptor you need quite easily.
To find the right AC adaptor, search for your camera specifically using the model number, not the brand or model names.
