Sony has a huge range of compact cameras. The world’s big name in photography has a full selection of every type of camera for any budget. These ultra-light, high quality cameras start from a very low price range, barely over $100, up to $700 compact cameras that are as good or better as some of the most advanced cameras on the market.
Sony compact cameras
The Sony Cybershot series comprises 28 different compact cameras. All of them have standard Sony features, but some have more capacity and bigger MP ranges from 10 to 16 megapixels. There are two basic design types, the TX weatherproof cameras and DSC T110 types and the larger lens varieties which include both the basic cameras and the top of the range compact cameras.
The compact cameras all have some common features:
- Intelligent Auto Mode: This is a “point and shoot” feature where the camera auto manages settings.
- Sweep Panorama- This is a common Sony feature, very useful for getting that full scene view and for composition.
The mid-range compact cameras include additional features:
- Larger Zeiss lenses
- 720p HD movie options
- Image stabilizers (also available on some of the cheaper cameras)
The high range cameras have more options, including:
- Underwater sweep panorama
- 3D imaging
- Weatherproofing (includes waterproof and full weatherproofing)
- Background defocus
- Big wide angle lenses
- 30x optical zoom
